Government forces are fighting rebels in Unity state, and the situation is seen as volatile. An oil facility has been bombed in the south, but the cause is not yet known. However, the move has been criticised for lacking political support and for placing a price on fuel. The decision is seen as being made in response to the rebels' threat to cut supplies of oil. Both Mr Kiir and the head of the main rebel group, Riek Machar, were to travel to Uganda on Friday to discuss the peace process, officials have said. South Sudan's oil exports in July and August dropped to 500,000 barrels a day (bpd) after being disrupted by fighting between government and rebel forces
